At Epic Studios we had another large crowd in to support Mammal Not Fish's EP release, Room 6. With a four band line up of locally sourced music, the scene in Norwich is excitingly vibrant
This show was another reminder on how good the musical talent coming out of Norfolk/Suffolk is at the moment. On this same night in Norwich, two other venues were also stuffed with eager music lovers, there to see more top quality local talent.
First up was Alton Wahlberg, a solo acoustic performer from Suffolk.
Next, Falling From Trees from Norwich, a five piece including siblings, Rebecca, Adam and Leo White. Their style of country folk rock was a refreshing addition to the evening and had the crowd dancing and clapping along.
After a three year hiatus, Norfolk pop/punk trio, Keep It Secret, returned to a 200+ crowd with style and confidence.
This was my first experience of a Mammal Not Fish show and it won't be the last!
There's some seriously funky grooves going on and with Davey Whales, they have an engaging, note perfect frontman. Several times over the course of their set I'm reminded of sounds from an era that predates the birthdate of many in the crowd. Hints of Duran Duran, Spandeau Ballet and Culture Club with a modern twist. Fantastic!!!!
